Split VPN and TOR traffic.

Hello.
I have setup OpenVPN server gateway my client PC use to be reachable from internet. There are services running both on TOR traffic and VPN, but as it is now everything seem to be going through VPN. For redundancy I would like to make TOR not to use VPN at all. I'm not very strong in my networking skills and this topic doesn't seem very discussed online. Could someone give me hand or at least point me in the right direction?

Is this achieved by modifying configuration files? Or by using iptables? Or by vpn split tunnelling? I found hints of all those methods used, but can't say for sure. I can provide any more relevant information if needed.
