OpenVPN and Unifi Dream Machine Pro

Post by bradm123 » Wed Mar 02, 2022 4:52 am

So the Unifi Dream Machine Pro is dumb and doesn't have OpenVPN as an option when setting up a VPN server. I have a Verizon hotspot that has a built in OpenVPN client. I would like to have this hotspot connect to my home network as a client and route all its wifi connected clients through my home network. Some of these clients dont have VPN client options (Roku for example)

I could stand up a pFsense VPN server between the WAN port of the UDMP and the modem but I dont want to do this for a variety of reasons.
I do have a Windows 10 box behind the Unifi hosting some services, however...could I install OpenVPN server on it? I would imagine some port forwarding would need to be done and perhaps a second NIC with a different IP address?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks.
