Accessing Network Share through TP Link OpenVPN server

I am attempting to use a vpn to access a shared network folder on my home's local network from outside of the local network. I set up the VPN using TP link's certificate creation, I can connect with the OpenVPN Connect app, but I cannot for the life of me get the shared network drive to show up on the remote computer. I have searched all over the internet and nothing has worked.
Am I supposed to have ports open that I'm unaware of?

Searching the IP address of the local computer does nothing

Pinging it in command prompt does nothing

I am at a complete loss and don't know where to look, any help is appreciated.
