Changing MTU for UDP

Post by luis84 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 7:52 am

Hello Everyone,

My OVPNAS runs both TCP And UDP as it does by default. I'd like to keep it this way. However, I'd like to change the MTU size for the UDP mode (since TCP does not respond to this).

I tried going into the "Advanced" and then Server Directives and adding: fragment 1200

However, it fails to restart OVPNAS server because it says fragment can only be applied to UDP.

So my questions:

1. Is it possible to change MTU value for UDP on a server that also runs TCP?
2. If I just set the server to UDP, is adding "fragment 1200" to the server config directives enough?

(P.S. This is a network issue, 1200 MTU is my only option, have already confirmed this, it's out of my control)
