good evening, good sirs.

I need help on installing old games and programs on my new PC (with windows 7 as its OS). but I encountered many problems when i tried to. my windows 7 keeps showing some .dll files is missing. for example, when i try to install pokemon game, it shows MSVBVM60.dll is missing. or (something).dll is missing for other programs.

I tried to google it but they say it's harmful to download separate .dll files and istall it to your PC. is there any way to do this without any threats for my CPU?

Thank you..

I had a very similar problem

I definitely would not suggest downloading any .dll from the interent....bad idea!

I had someone from my IT department sort this out for me, but I can tell you its either a registry problem or a driver hasn't installed properly, so you may want to look into that.

Im sure someone on this Forum can give you a hand

Hope you get it sorted :)

I too am having this issue so will be keeping an eye on this thread. I do agree though with the above poster not to download .dll files from the internet.

You need to install Windows Visual Basic express in order to get that url, I am pretty sure you can find it on the internet and it;s free.
Probably the games uses visual basic and that is why it needs that lib.

What if there are other DLLs that you are missing or corrupted and you can't download them because of unscrupulousness, how are you supposed to get them? You used to be able to uncompress them from cabs in older windows, and the repair windows option doesn't do it. The VBasic ones to me are the easy ones to get. User32.dll comes to mind as one of many I have problem with.

What a pain... Now I'm not looking forward to upgrading. I know, I'm behind. The Visual Basic Express tip is a good one though.

You will need to uninstall all what you have just done and get the compatible version updates on those game programs your wanting to install on Windows 7 make sure that the games are compatible with Windows 7 and if not, a good place to ask your question would be to the game manufacturer forum or search there help FAQ etc. They would have a better clue. But with what I've just mentioned this is the common solution. :geek:

Restart your computer and update your BIOS settings. You should also restore your window registry and update the volume boot code to use BOOTMGR finally install a fresh copy of window 7 in your computer. You can take Microsoft Help for window support and also take Malware Protection for window virus safety.
