OpenVPN Service crashes appon resuming.

Hi, i used openvpn for a secure link between my work place and home laptop. My problem is that after putting my laptop to sleep or hybernating it - appon resuming the laptop about 50% of the time the openvpn service freezes and consumes approx 50% of the cpu power. If i stop and restart the service it connects correctly but it will likely lockup again after another sleep / resume cycle.
This fault onyl seems to affect Windosw7 as another laptop with Windows XP doesnt seem to be affected, i have tried the changing the service startup type to Auto, Auto (delayed) and manual and even setting the recovery modes to restart service makes no difference.
Appart from this niggle i am impressed with the security and qaulity of the OpenVPN project.
Cheers
