I really don't know if this is the right place for this question... but is there a way that I can have OpenVPN automatically fill in my username and password when I try to connect?

[16:28] <krzee> !pwfile
[16:28] <vpnHelper> krzee: "pwfile" is (#1) OpenVPN will only read passwords from a file if it has been built with the --enable-password-save configure option, or on Windows by defining ENABLE_PASSWORD_SAVE in config-win32.h, or (#2) see --auth-user-pass in the manual (!man) for more info

Any chance you could dumb it down for me? I have no idea about scripts or the config file or any of that stuff.

you can only save passwords to a file if you have custom compiled openvpn with the --enable-password-save configure option
What OS are you running?

I'm on Windows 7 and I installed OpenVPN from an .exe file that my work provides.

We are likely going to start offering Windows Binaries with the feature enabled. Check the notes for the current beta releases, I'm not sure if any of them support this now or not.

if your work did not enable this feature, they probably dont want you saving your login/password to a file... it does turn "something you know" into "something you have" which certs already are
