Windows 11 Pro - updated on a regular basis.
I am using OpenVPN-Gui (I am aware that this may not be the correct forum. If not, just let me know, and I'll re-post).
I am retired, working on my home network. I installed NordVPN, and was able to get my Archer A2300 set up as OpenVPN. Since August 2023, I've been using GUI without fail (95% of the time I had to manually start the program, but that's nothing). Somehow, my password was horked/corrupted/lost by myself.. probably the latter. For the last few weeks, I've read/tried things, but it's become time to ask for help. Not a programmer, just a tinkerer. I'd like to be able to recover/reload the password. I am wondering if deinstalling the GUI, cleaning out my Registry (after backing it up) via Windows Cleanup and reinstalling would be something worth trying? I’m stuck at this point, and unsure of how to recover my password otherwise.
I've seen an older post on this site that recommends things, but it's pretty old (2018 I believe), and a bit confusing for my addled brain.
TY

2024-02-11 15:44:29 DEPRECATED OPTION: --cipher set to 'AES-256-CBC' but missing in --data-ciphers (AES-256-GCM:AES-128-GCM:CHACHA20-POLY1305). OpenVPN ignores --cipher for cipher negotiations.
2024-02-11 15:44:29 Note: '--allow-compression' is not set to 'no', disabling data channel offload.

Re: GUI password lost.
This is not a bump post.. just some down-home good-time irony I thought I'd pass on.
When I tried to post my message above yesterday, this forum system wouldn't accept it. It was flagged as a scam or some other ne'er-do-well mess. I tried it again, with the same result.
I actually had to log off my VPN to get the post to pass through.

Can the moderator, whoever you might be, go ahead and delete this entire post. It's obvious help isn't OTW.

Hi Buck,
We can't reset your NordVPN password, nor the password you might have set on your Archer A2300. Help's not on the way because it's not possible.
Sorry, rob0
