DID something crucial changed on Androids?

Post by keky » Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:31 pm

Android 13 with sec update on June 5 I get this with trying to connect to my OpenVPN server from the phone:

Code: Select all

Wed Oct 4 20:28:27 2023 us=231762 TCP/UDP: Closing socket
What is interesting is there is no change since years on the server, nor on the client and it just started doing it with no reason. Checked it on multiple wifis and 5G networks its the same while the VPN works from regular laptop on Debian for example just WTF.

In addition I have checked the CA and cert expire in 2040 so that's not a problem either.

It's a TCP server.

I have tried to reinstall the openvpn app doesn't help either. Even on the phone I did not install any stupid firewall or security product there was no change at all and it started to happen with no reason.

This started happening again from Wifi, I simply cannot connect to 2 servers from Android both on different locations ... I have changed mssfix on the server side didn't help but after restarting the phone the VPN works again.

WTF Google seriously, this must be some issue with some recent Android update, the whole thing started to happen with no reason even before updating the OpenVPN app, updating the app matter of fact didn't change much.

This just shows how we are going backwards, not enough that all new Android releases get more slow and sluggish but it seems now unreliable as well I should've disable all updates permanently long ago I want them as much as cancer.
