Official app not working on Android TV

So I got my first VPN subscription and would like to save some device slots by configuring my home router - process requires OpenVPN.
Everything good on Windows but I'm not able to do it on Android TV (Xiaomi MiTV-MSSP3 , Android 9)
App is not available on Android TV.

Got the OpenVPN Connect apk from APK mirror, installed it but app doesn't show properly on screen (only part of screen app is visible)... Happens to some sideloaded apps which are not meant for TV.
Found a non oficiall app (I presume) on Google Play which actually installs to TV without sideloading and the GUI is useable

But I can't properly configure it - gives an error:
"Unrecognized option ... or extra parameter... ncp-disable" - so I put a # in front of this line but still not working...
Considering I'm a total noob...
Is an official Android TV release of OpenVPN Connect programed?
Something that would allow me (and all other useres) to successfully complete CyberGost setup instructions
