I hope this is the correct forum for this question. If not, please point me in the right direction.
My configuration:
iPad (ios 16.5) >> OpenVPN >> iPhone Personal hotspot (ios 17.0) >> Cell carrier (Tmobile) >> Home network (Comcast) >> TPLink Deco mesh router >> amateur radio transceiver behind the router
Tmobile apparently blocks all UDP traffic, so I cannot connect to the amateur radio from the cell network without a VPN.
With the VPN on, I can connect to the internet on the iPad and browse with no issues. However, when I try to connect to the amateur radio from the iPad through the cell network it will not connect. The router is correctly configured to forward those ports and if I try to connect to my Comcast public IP from within my LAN, it connects.
Is this perhaps an issue with IPV4 vs IPV6? My amateur radio only uses IPV4. I have tried disabling IPV6 in OpenVPN and in the router to force all traffic as IPV4 but when I do that, I cannot pass any data to ANY internet destination.
Any suggestions?
