VERIFY ERROR: depth=0, error=self signed certificate

Post by montana » Mon Jan 16, 2023 12:13 am

I have been using OpenVPN GUI 2.4.7 for several years on Windows 10. I have installed it on Windows 11, but it will not start.

In the Windows 10 log, I get the message "VERIFY OK: depth=0, CN=a0:3d:6f:d2:1d:fc, OU=RV320, O=Cisco Systems, Inc., L=Irvine, C=US, ST=Califomia". In the Windows 11 log, I get messages
VERIFY ERROR: depth=0, error=self signed certificate: CN=a0:3d:6f:d2:1d:fc, OU=RV320, O=Cisco Systems, Inc., L=Irvine, C=US, ST=Califomia
OpenSSL: error:1416F086:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate:certificate verify failed
TLS_ERROR: BIO read tls_read_plaintext error
TLS Error: TLS object -> incoming plaintext read error
TLS Error: TLS handshake failed
Fatal TLS error (check_tls_errors_co), restarting

I have tried OpenVPN GUI 2.5.8 with the same result.
