No access to file server for multiple users via OpenVPN Connect (Windows + Mac)

We have 5 out of around 50 users who connect remotely to our Untangle Firewall - OpenVPN server that suddenly has an issue connecting to the file server, Windows + macOS clients. It will not connect using FQDN or IP address which makes me feel that it's not DNS. OpenVPN is using local accounts on the firewall instead of AD authentication at the moment. The connection to the file server works without issues over a secondary L2TP VPN connection to the same Firewall. The connections work for other users on OpenVPN. Ping to servers works and the internet works for the users with the file server access issue. I'm unaware of any changes that would have caused this.

Perhaps good if you could post a client side log snippet that shows the problem.
