I'm new to using VPNs and have a general (not OpenVPN specific) question I hope is ok to ask here...
My use case is geo-relocation: I've setup OpenVPN on my client machine because I want my access to a server to appear to be from a different location (via a VPN service provider). My question is how reliable is this? Can server operators learn the IP addresses used by VPN service providers and block them? Does this happen frequently in practice? Can/do they detect VPN access by other methods (besides geolocation of IP address)? Thanks for any enlightenment!
Effectiveness of geo-relocation via VPN
