ok I have been racking my brain for days, I have setup open VPN via my asus routers instructions.

i connect fine to it via mylaptop but then i try to open a network location which is n mydesk (my desktop is like a server) when i click on it i get drive name already in use, which doesn't make sense as i can connect to it fine when VPN is not on.

Also odd i try to ping my desktop that the network drive I'm trying to access and it times out. also i can get to the routers internal page but i cant get to any other internal page like my IP camera's etc.

help!

i also shut off the windows defender firewall on the desktop comp that has the network share and i still cant ping it on vpn- i can ping it off vpn

Are you actually using OpenVPN Connect (Windows) or OpenVPN Community Edition ?

client is openvpn connect and im using windows
