Open VPN on Android

Keep getting an error message everytime I try to readd my router VPN settings.
Tried adding a certificate under android settings but nothing displays to select (says no file)
I'm using a router with open vpn. Been using it for years but since my router reinstall, i reinstalled the certificates for the vpn but it keeps asking for a certificate on my android phone but on my windows 10 pc it connects straight away. Its a community version of open vpn. I keep re-downloading the .opvn file on my android device but its not working, seems to always be greyed out anyway when trying to load the file onto the app.
