Not accessing VPN resources from MAC OS10.14.6

Post by groovit » Mon Jan 24, 2022 7:33 pm

Hello,

I am unable to access resources on the remote end of the VPN connection. Open VPN connect establishes a connection but i cannot hit any devices via browser (I have tried several browsers and through Windows10 running on the machine).

The subnets of both the local and remote networks are 192.168.1.x but I do not see conflicting addresses on each that may cause an issue.
I can access the remote network perfectly from my windows 10 machine from a different location that the client.

I tried running Tunnelbrick but I was unsure of the application with this app.

Is there some sort of DNS resolution issue on the MAC or some sort of security setting I could be overlooking?

Hello,

This is not an OpenVPN Connect issue. It is probably an issue with your unstated VPN server. And it is almost surely a route conflict for 192.168.1.0/24, the most commonly used of all RFC 1918 netblocks.
