OpenVPN connect exclude applications

Post by Pedro9700 » Wed Sep 08, 2021 2:17 pm

Good afternoon,
I would like to know if there is currently any way to exclude an application from going through the vpn. I'm using the vpn as a privacy device, but when it comes to gaming, it adds enough latency to be noticeable and therefore I would like to not use the vpn while gaming, but instead of turning the vpn on and off every time I wanted to play a game, I was wondering if there was a way to whitelist or blacklist some applications in order to bypass the vpn, would come in really handy for gaming :)
thanks in advance!

Hello Pedro9700,

At this time the OpenVPN Connect program does not differentiate per application - only by IP. You could make bypass rules just for specific IPs of certain servers.

Kind regards,
Johan

Any thoughts on implementing such a feature?
