Almost there..Need assistance

Good Day All,

I am in need of some assistance, I am setting up an OpenVPN server for the use that staff can access multiple servers on a specific subnet.

I have setup my configuration files by reading through multiple articles but now have come to a stand still.
Config:
Proto UDP
dev tap
server-bridge "OpenVPN Server IP" "subnet" "Start range" "End Range"
server-bridge
push route-gateway-dhcp
push dhcp-option DNS "DNS Server"
push dhcp-option WINS "DNS Server"

Both sides connect, I cannot see the network that I am meant to be seeing,

Yet the server will collect a 169.x.x.x address and the client would collect the ip address specified from the range. The client connection would not have the dhcp server that was specified yet the DNS and WINS server is correct.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you,

169.x.x.x mean server get auto ip address from windows so you install it on window and now event your server not have an ip address at all . If you need help you need give full server and client config and full log so people will help you . Hide all that info nobody know what to advice .

If you need access file browser over vpn you can running openvpn on tun make it easy and fast then you can follow this tutorial to make automatic map network drive for your staff

Why did you want tap/bridging? That is very seldom necessary, very often a bad idea.

Hello, I do not require bridging, I only want the OpenVPN server to use a range of IP's that I specify, as I have reserved them on my DHCP server.

Hello Rob,

Can you please provide a link or how do I upload my config files for you to browse over?

Thank you,

You have not read this:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=22603

I doubt you have read the howto.

And I doubt you really understand how to do your job, which I why you come here looking for help.

There are a couple of volunteers here who help people who are having problems with openvpn.
But your problem is not with openvpn, it is that you have not read the documentation and you want
somebody to tell you howto for free.

Nobody likes to help those who clearly have not tried to help themselves.

Soo .. good luck to you.

If you need professional assistance then my email is above.
Or you can seek that assistance via what-ever standard channels the company you work for provide.

Good Day,

My job is not to setup OpenVPN's I have read through the documentation and have already created my Config files as explained in the documentation everything is working, it is just that there was a couple of tweaks that I needed assistance with.

I find you comments extremely offensive and rude. Thank you for the help anyways. I have managed to fix the issue at hand.

I removed the bridge and setup the DHCP Option correctly in my config. I read through some helpful sample configs and saw where I went wrong. I didnt set the scope correctly and didnt add the second route correctly. I hope that helps you Tim.
