Hi All

I need to rebuils an ESXI virtual server, the ova is version 2.8.5 which I want to take up to 2.8.8 but no futher.

What is the best way to do this?

or rollback from 2.9 to 2.8.8 but not sure this would work.

I assume you mean the OVA containing Ubuntu 18.04 in which case the following article might be of help for how to specify updating specifical to 2.8.8 instead of the latest version:
