Quitting Private Internet Access

Trying to update PIA but the installer keeps saying I need to close the current PIA before it can install. I've tried 'Force Quitting' with Activity Monitor (mac) but it still says it's running.
I've tried opening PIA but nothing happens.
Please help.

SOLVED. Restarted computer.

restarting computer solves a lot of things :)
