Are there any plans to create a VPN Provider driver for Windows to allow use of the built in Windows VPN Client to allow for native integration into Windows?
If it required a separate application to configure it, I don't see any issues with that.

No, I would not expect that to arrive anytime soon, or at all. A project in that direction was started, but there were major issues with the networking systems in Windows that Microsoft failed to address. Since it was not possible to get these issues resolved with them, and the current client software solution works quite well, and we have the new wintun driver with better performance, it seems unlikely that what you ask for will become available.
I'm still alive, just posting under the openvpn_inc alias now as part of a larger group.
