Evade VPN fingerprinting

Post by 4n4l » Wed May 20, 2020 7:22 pm

Some services, like https://2ip.io/privacy/, are able to detect that I'm using OpenVPN and its settings (for example OpenVPN, AES, MAC is SHA512).
How VPN fingerprint works? Is it possible to configure OpenVPN in order to evade such checks?

The only relief is the fact that losers like you have a life so empty that they have to waste their time writing this low-level-troll-shit to fill it.

This reminded me of our conversation a few years ago.
FYI: Usenix is a security top conf, and this paper won the Distinguished Paper Award.

Hi,

There is nothing really new in that video...
Another way to detect OpenVPN to some extend is to calculate MTU values.

But really, OpenVPN is to secure communications between 2 (or more) endpoints.
Hiding traffic is not it's goal and never was.

I gloomily came to the ironic conclusion that if you take a highly intelligent person and give them the best possible, elite education, then you will most likely wind up with an academic who is completely impervious to reality.

In fact, when I asked someone replied with "Magic" and "I can see through time" while there was an answer.
My point is that there was an answer...
