So just for the people searching the forums and ending up in this topic - this topic was started with the old forums where there was an LDAP server shared with community wiki behind it with a password change system that was pretty clunky. At the time of writing we now have switched to a new forum system with its own authentication system where you can just use the usual methods of changing your password, and the wiki has its own authentication system too.
If you forgot your password just do a password reset. You'll get an email and can reset it. It's worth mentioning that after we went to the new forum system all users are required to reset their password this way.
If you are already logged in just go to the profile menu option at the top right and go to settings. You can change it from there.
