Cannot Connect VPN in Windows 10

Did you try adding your gateway, i.e., router IP, as the default gateway for the VPN virtual adapter? It fixed a similar issue with MS apps (News, Sports, etc.) I was having with NordVPN.

This issue has nothing to do with setting the default gateway for the VPN virtual adapter.

Also, your proposed "fix" is not only a bad idea for your questionable usage but would also be impossible in the case of the OP because the VPN is not even connecting.
