Can't manually change mac address of TAP

I installed the new version of OpenVPN (2.4.8) on windows 10. For some reason, I can't change the mac address of the TAP anymore? If I do an ipcconfig /all, still shows the original mac address of TAP. But it works on the old versions of OpenVPN. Maybe someone can help and point me the right direction for answers? This is on the new tap-windows6 driver (9.24.2). Thank you.

On OpenVPN 2.4.7, you can change the mac. Under Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > change adapter settings > Right click on TAP-Windows Adapter V9 > Select Properties, click on Configure > Under Advanced tab, select MAC Address, then enter value. Use this format, e.g. 00FFBA9C1211
I only change the last 4 digits.
Tried this procedure on 2.4.8, it will not reflect on the ipconfig /all command.

Yes, it looks like TAP adaptor no longer supports user defined MAC.
I have raised a report:
