Failed running command (--up/--down): returned error code 1

Running Windows 10. Trying to get a script running that I found online. I am getting the error in the subject.
I appended the following to the CA Toronto.ovpn file. Does it matter where it goes?
Code: Select all
script-security 2
up "C:\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\CA Toronto_up.bat"
up-restart
I was able to connect fine without using the script.

The script was from a reliable source and was shared in the context of automating the PIA port forwarding in Deluge. I appreciate the risk of running scripts. I am wondering if there is an issue with the lines I added to config or what could be causing the error.

How would we know ?

do not know or support your script and you have not shared any logs.

Ok, I will stop bothering you then. The error had nothing to do with the script. The error I received (title of my post) was from the OpenVPN log. The changes I made to the CA Toronto OPVN config were listed. Sounded like it was an issue with the "up" command in OpenVPN so I thought I would ask on the OpenVPN forum for some help.

The script returned failed to openvpn.
