I am new in this forum an i' d like to introduce my self.
I am Patrick and working in the IT business for the last 19 years.
I am from germany and my english might not be the best

At hte moment i am looking for a way to add parameters to an open vpn client configuration file.

I want to add the following settings manually to a client configuration file:
DNS server ip adresses
DNS suffix

Does anybody know how to set these parameters at an vpn client configuration file?

The following setting worked for me:
Add the following to the ovpn client config file:
dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x
dhcp-option DOMAIN mydomain.domain

I changed the metrik of the openvpn networkadapter (Windows Client) to 1.
Otherwise the DNS Server from the openvpn adapter is not used while an activ ssl vpn client connection.

Perhaps helpfull for somone else

I am having the same problem I think. We have a VPN server setup on a Datto D200 firewall, using OpenVPN client. I can connect to the VPN server and PING IP addresses on the local LAN on the other side of the firewall, but DNS is not working. What and where is the ovpn client config file? And how do you edit it?
