OpenVPN 3.0.2 (894) and iOS12 - still not working

The other thread is locked for some reason. None of the suggestions there worked for me. That post has 5,000 views and no verified solution, why is it locked?
I'm running OpenVPN 3.0.2 and the latest version of iOS12. Every connection attempt results in a "Network is unavailable" error. I haven't found any solutions online, just people with issues using OpenVPN Connect with iOS. Any help is greatly appreciated. This used to work flawlessly...
