Block certain websites

Post by aknakshay » Sat Nov 10, 2018 5:11 pm

Hi
I am using OpenVPN AS using Docker as a POC.
I have configured the DNS as
8.8.8.8
8.8.8.4

All the websites are accessible to clients. I want to block a few, say just 'facebook.com'. How can I do that?

Please guide
thanks :D

Well, the Access Server is a VPN solution, not a firewall solution. What you're looking for would require inspecting the traffic and based on that block things. Or you can try to find a list of all facebook servers by IP address, and null-route that, I suppose, on the AS itself. But I am not sure how well that would work.

What you could do is set up a transparant proxy server or firewall system between the Access Server and the Internet, so that any traffic going through the Access Server must pass through that proxy/firewall, and then in there put some rule to block facebook.
