Upgrade problem

I just upgraded my ipad and iphone to the latest openvpn and ios 12. The ipad upgraded fine and the certificate worked without any intervention. My iphone on the other hand did not work. The certificates disappeared. I reinstalled them and the phone still did not connect. Any suggestions?
