Hi,
OpenVPN works flawlessly on my Android phone. The only exception to this is when using the Instagram app.

It will stay connected until I start flicking through Instagram stories, then the OpenVPN connection will quietly disconnect in the background.
Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it possible that instagram doesn't like VPN connections and can interrupt the data flow, causing the disconnection?
The OpenVPN didn't log the connection failure at all.

(Interestingly, My VPN has it's own IPSec based VPN app. When connecting with that, only Instagram will stop loading data. All other apps wok fine. It works fine if I don't use a VPN at all).

Are you using your own server or an online service provider ?

Instagram can probably work out that you are using a VPN then.

But the reason it does not work can be anything

• from .. instagram does not work with a VPN unless you can configure the server to support it
  to .. instagram just does not allow VPN clients to use their service

There is not much we can do to help you and I doubt the VPN provider will help either.

If you try running your own VPN server you might be able to work it out.

Or ask instagram for help ...
