OpenVPN SSL VPN tunnel handshake process

Hey all,

I was hoping for some input - I'm trying to get an understanding of the how exactly a SSL VPN tunnel is established. These diagrams seem to be the most accurate that I have found, but at which point in the process would the username / password authentication take place?
