Cannot connect to local SMB Share - how to ignore local traffic?

Hi everyone!
Well, the topic says it all pretty much.
While connected with OpenVPN on my Android to a VPN Server I cannot see or connect to a local SMB Share (on a NAS-Drive).
I guess this is because even local traffic is routed through the VPN?
Is there a way to fix this on Android?
Thanks!

It depends on which VPN server you are connected to ..

would you please care to elaborate on that? Is it a parameter that is defined in the configs?

Still, you speak in riddles. I require substantial help.

I'm not quite sure what kind of data your require. I assume you refer to the protocol? Here is what I deem relevant:
Protocol: TCPv4
Port: 443
from the config:
dev tun
nobin
persist-key
persist-tun
remote-cert-tls server

Sorry, TinCanTech. Usually I'm not as dense.
Still, I thought about posting extensive config files and logs, but I fail to see the purpose (opposed to the "How to request help"-thread). Am I wrong? Even more, as you write in your thread, that one shall not include public information about the server. But why is it then of importance to what server I'm connected - besides basic configurations as already posted above?
However, my "OpenVPN Connect" version (for Android) is 1.1.17 (build 76). Core 3.0.12 armv7a.
Does this suffice?
Thank you

Add a route for your NAS drive, see if that works.
