Setting up OpenVPN client with LLinksys LRT224 Router

Post by Jay-T » Fri Sep 23, 2016 4:16 am

Hi,

I'm new to this and I'm setting up OpenVPN with for a small business. I'm using a Lunksys LRT224 Router which comes with OpenVPN support.

I've followed all the instructions on the website and I've manage to successfully connect the Client. I know this as the Open VPN client is telling me that it's connected and I'm seeing on the Linksys Router page that the tunnel is used and that an IP address has been assigned to the client computer.

I'm looking to access network drives as well as an SQL database on a synology NAS that resides on the target network. However I'm not able to access anything, but I can use the internet so I know the connection is working.

As I'm really new to this I don't really know what to expect or what else to configure to enable access.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That is not an answer, sorry. I have the same problem and as far as I see it there is something on the Linksys not setup correctly. Thehowto you are reffering to does not say anything about setting op a LRT224.

Perhaps I read the manual for my car, that is just as useful. We are talking about a Linksys LRT 224 device which is set up as an OpenVPN server. And before you send us to Linksys: they do the same by sending us here.

@Jay-T
  • You have the details you require
@dutchguy
  • You have simply hijacked this thread to complain about how volunteers respond to you.

    It is unlikely that you have the same problem as the OP:

    This is what you want:

    The OpenVPN HOWTO is specifically written for OpenVPN F.O.S.S. This Forum does not customise documetation for Linksys, that is for Linksys to do themselves.

    If you are dissatisfied with Linksys then vote with your wallet by not buying their products.

    If you want help on this Forum then please read this:
    HOWTO: Request Help !

    Once you have provided the necessary details, volunteers who frequent this Forum may choose to help you.

    If that is not sufficient for you then you can do one or all of the following:
    • Read the documentation provided
    • Contact tincantech at the email provided
    • Search online for professional support of your choosing
    • Go to school or buy a book and learn how to do it yourself
If you want spoon feeding ask your grand-mother.
