Hello,
actually I'm a little frustrated. I try to setup a connection between my ios 9 iphone and my synology nas.
The synology nas comes with a vpn server and I did everything according to the howto on this site

and this

but all I get is this

Im thankfull for any advice.

I have got a PPTP connection between the iphone and synology up and running - I have The TCP 443, 1723 and UDP 1194 redirected to the IP of my nas

TIMEOUT: check that your firewall has port UDP:1194 correctly forwarded to your NAS.

Do you have an OpenVPN server config file and log ?

Hi,
thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately I don't habe a server config and the log only tells me things like

server started
server stopped
PPTP VPNuser logged in 
PPTP VPNuser logged out

nothing about openvpn login attempts

I hope I don't have to fiddle with the synology vpn server app using ssh...

Thank you for your replay.
Unfortunately I don't have a server config. I use the synology DSM 5.x VPN app to provide vpn on my nas. So I only see a config gui.
And for the log file. This doesn't give much information. Only stuff like:

PPTP VPN server started
PPTP VPN server stopped
openVPN VPN server started
openVPN VPN server stopped

I hope I don't have to fiddle via ssh in the synology server config....

works fine on my qnap ts-269 pro, thought the vendors qnap/synology were the same using cut down Linux and ipkg?
have you assigned a user account with the VPN? this caught me out first time, and once you do this on the qnap you have to download the connect files again.
