Compile Elliptic Curve function

Hi,
I found an Readme.ec in the OPENVPN-Git which says:
Since 2.4.0, OpenVPN has official support for elliptic curve crypto. Elliptic curves are an alternative to RSA for asymmetric encryption.
A set up my VPN Tunnel on Windows, but i don't think it is that easy to get i working with elliptic curves,right?
Thats why i set up an Ubuntu VM and want to build this elliptic curve support from git.
Unfortunately, I have no clue how to do it, because I am a Linux-newbie. Could somebody explain how to build this elliptic curce support for my OPENVPN installation?
