IPv6 tuntap driver

I am trying to build the OpenVPN tuntap driver for Windows. I am using Windows 2012 as the build server and trying to install on Windows 7. I have built the NDIS 5 and NDIS6 version found at https://github.com/OpenVPN/tap-windows6 and https://github.com/OpenVPN/tap-windows. I am using tapinstall(devcon). Everything I try results in the error "No compatible drivers found" logged in c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev. I am obviously missing something but I can't discover what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
