openVPN on iOS not free anymore?

Hey,
In the Appstore (Europe, the Netherlands), the openVPN app for iOS was free up to today as far as I know.
Now the app is a payed app (+/- 2,65 euro).
I cannot see any changes within the AppStore, openVPN.net or these forums.
Can anyone confirm this is a action from openVPN or if it's a flaw in the system and the app will be free again?

With all respect, the forum team can answer this question or redirect me in the right direction.
If this change is the real deal, they can at least inform the customers...

I agree with zephyer on this, we were looking into using this as a VPN solution to replace a current VPN but if its not free at the point of use from a user point of view its going to be a show stopper. I will not even attempt to force approx 18,000 users into purchasing client software for a service we offer when they are already paying to use our services anyway.
Shouldn't this cost be included with the Access Server appliance license?
If this is the defiantly the case we will have to looking at something else, unfortunately.

Agreed.
It's always frustrating when an app requires payment, especially when there are other means of collecting those fees indirectly (OpenVPN licensing). $3 is peanuts, but it is a huge hassle to add a credit card to every Apple ID when most corporate apps do not require payment.
Love OpenVPN, but this was a huge disappointment... not the lack of notification, but the decision to move in this direction period. Please find a different way to collect more money. I'll gladly pay, just not this way.
