OpenVPN connect not working, but 3rd party OpenVPN apps do

This issue has only just started occurring on my Android devices today. Attempting to connect to my VPN (provided by IronSocket) using the official OpenVPN Connect app results in the following error message:
"OpenVPN core error : polarssl_digest_error: NONE: not usable"
However, I can use a 3rd party app (OpenVPN for Android) to connect to the same profile over the same network without any issues.
Below are screenshots of the log outputs of both apps. This bug is happening on my NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet and OnePlus One, both on Kitkat.
