Bridge mode with iOS

Just got my Tomato firmware OpenVPN server with router mode and tun set up, and I was able to connect to it via my iOS OpenVPN client as well as my laptop Tunnelblik client.
Then I realized I actually want bridge mode, so that my clients can see services within my LAN, like Apple afp folders, DLNA server, music server, etc. Router mode only gets me into the WAN vlan but not the LAN vlan.
Once I changed my OpenVPN server into tap, my iOS OpenVPN client says iOS cannot connect to it via tap tunnel.
Does that mean, by definition, my iOS client cannot be a member of my tap bridge vpn?
Is there any known other way to get my iOS client to join the vpn so it can see other LAN published services?
TIA...
