Can't login remotely

Hello,
I'm having a problem logging in remotely. I currently use PF Sense on my router, and OpenVPN. When I'm at home on the Home Network using my iPad Air I can login with my browser program (File Browser app) and Open VPN just fine. I can even remotely login to PF Sense. When I'm remote, I can login to Open VPN but when I try to open my File Browser, I get a connection timeout failure.
I'm very new to this and not a network guru, so if you can help, talk slow! Lol
