Connect/Disconnect through Settings

Hi,
I'm wondering why I cannot connect/disconnect through the regular VPN Settings entry?
Instead, I've to run the OpenVPN app
Some other application (e.g. Cisco Anyconnect) are not working like that, so it's not an Apple limitation.
Can someone explain please?
Many thanks in advance and kind regards,
fSeka

Yes, I second for this feature as it will feel like normal VPN operation in the iOS!

Hi,
1.0.2 is out now but this feature is still missing
Any idea, if it will be implemented one day?
Many thanks and kind regards,

Unfortunately, Apple doesn't allow OpenVPN to be controlled from the Settings App at this time.

Thanks for answering to my question but why some other application (e.g. Cisco Anyconnect or Juniper) have the right to do it?

I can actually turn the OpenVPN connection on and off through the system switch.
Strangely that turned to work when I try to fix my VPN-on-Demand setup which broke after updating to 1.02.
Before my VPN-on-Demand setup worked like a charm. I used this guide:
http://simonguest.com/2013/03/22/on-dem ... n-for-ios/
but it refuses to work after updating to OpenVPN 1.02 on iOS.
I just found out that after importing the .mobileconfig setting for VoD when I go to settings -> VPN and at this setting uncheck the "connect on demand" button, I can actually turn it on through the System settings.
That's a nice find, but I'd prefer if the VoD would work again

Keep in mind that Apple made some major changes to VPN-On-Demand (VoD) in iOS 7.

Actually, I take that back -- you are right! In iOS 7, it's now possible to start OpenVPN from the Settings App, but only for VPN-On-Demand (VoD) profiles.
