Getting web access out of C-h-i-n-a

Hi,

Web based proxies don't really work, and it's not just the recent insane banning of youtube in this country.

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I am hoping OpenVPN can allow me greater access from here.

I am not an expert in networks, but I am familiar with the terms and can use the CLI when instructed.

What do I need to break through the g-o-l-d-e-n s-h-i-e-l-d?

If you just want outside web access, you simply need an SSH host, outside your home country, which allows forwarding. From there, simply run an SSH SOCKS proxy. Here's a quick how-to:
