Hi everybody,

...hope that someone can really help me...

actually i have a problem with my OPEN VPN connection.
I'm able to connect the OPEN VPN server but when i try to load any web page with FireFox (release 13.0.1) i receive and error message saying:
The page cannot be displayed since is using an invalid compression...etc"...i've seen many forums and most of them they said to clean the cashe, i've done it but nothing to do..
I've tried with IE 8 but the page cannot be loaded.

Any idea?? Do you think it may be related to that particular OPEN VPN server or it's smth related t my laptop??

Really thanx in advance..

Can you post your server + client configfile and the logfile from the server, when the client connects?

The first thing to do is try to ping the vpn-server on it's vpn-address, not the external. Does that work?

You said "the page cannot be loaded", are you trying to connect to the openVPN-server using Firefox or IE?

Hi thanx for your reply.

I don't know how to get all those information (log files etc), i mean i'm not an expert and i need to be giuided.
However i'm able to be conected to the VPN server through the VPN client, then i can start FireFox but it stucks and cannot load any page. With IE it's even worst,i receive the message that it can't open any page.

I'm frustrated since i'm paying mony to Banana OPen VPN and it's not working..

When you're connected using the vpn-client:
  1. 1. What's the ip-address of your virtual adapter (ifconfig, ipconfig)
  • 2. How does the routing-table look like (netstat -rn, route)
  • 3. Can you ping "the other side", which is the vpn-server itself?
If step 3 works, you need to figure-out routing on the server, which is outside openvpn but inside the server-OS
