OpenVPN Support Forum

Hello,

we have been setting up openvpn for all our VPN users.
Our Firewall is a Sophos UTM 9 (Astaro)
all our Android devices and Windows Computers can connect without any problems.

But if i try to connect the VPN on an IPhone (5) i get the following error:
OpenVPN error: option_error: tls-remote not supported

I thought about deleting the tls lines from the .ovpn config file, i will report how that did affect the problem.
Are there any known Workarounds for this Error?
Or do i have to wait for version 1.0.1? When will 1.0.1 be released?

i deleted the "tls" line and it actually started a connection.
But when it pulls the settings from the vpn server it gets a connection time out

You probably need to change this server side as well. It is most likely trying to listen for connections using the proper TLS key and is not responding to yours because you aren't presenting a TLS key.




Can we please add this as a feature? My co-worker has an Android phone and his works because this option is in the Android client for OpenVPN. If we want mine to work, we will have to setup a completely separate OpenVPN instance on the server that doesn't use tls-remote.

i dont think that i have to do any changes at the vpn server (firewall) because all our android devices work perfectly fine without changing any setting on the Phone or on the firewall.

i hope 1.0.1 will be released soon

Is there a release date for 1.0.1 version? I'm having the same issue.
