OPEN VPN Data plane issues- Routing in Windows 7 Home bug?

Hi,
Interesting issue here.

I have a Synology DSM w/ VPn that works like a champ- as long as Windows 7 Ultimate is the client whewre OpenVPN client (2.2) is installed. However, 2 separate PC's on Windows 7 Home Premium connect according to Open VPN but I can not ping, telnet, HTTP nor FTP to the server. It appears that the dataplane is not setup correctly. I can manually disconnect the suspect connection on the server and the client sees that and reestablishes the VPN but still cannot pass traffic

In looking at route print info-the VPN network does not appear fully setup
1. The network route to the VPN network does not exist (172.16.0.0)
2. the route metric for the VPN routes are >250

it should look like this (172 network is VPN)

are you running the gui with admin rights?

Yes- not as administrator (i.e. right click run as administrator) but as a user with admin rights.

That is the case on both the PCs that work and do not

can you post logs from your clients?

Got it fixed- and DOH!- IT'S IN THE README FILE.

The Run as admin must be right clicked or assigned to the shortcut
