Website repeatedly forgets who I am

I'm a newly registered member. I registered to ask a question. Every time I go to http://forums.openvpn.net/topic10122.html, intending to post to that thread, I get logged out. So when I try to add a comment, it first asks me to log in and after I do, it dumps me on the index page. Seems like snakes and ladders.

Interestingly, on the second try, I could navigate to this subforum and post this message.

Any suggestions?

(Is the site using cookies that don't have openvpn in their site name? If so, that could be the problem.)

the biggest problem is the switch from http to https and back - as soon as you click on a http:// link the website "forgets" me .
It's a long-standing desire to switch to different forum software, but the switch-over is still pending....

That was it. I actually figured that out but could not follow up on my (first ever) post because it was held for moderation. Fair enough.

I've seen that mentioned but don't get an idea when that is happening. A little discouraging since I understand all old forum contents will be left behind.
