[resolved] Exit code: 2

When I run setup (Windows 7 Ultimate, x86 SP1)... A message appears:

OpenVPN Connect

Unable to install TUN/TAP driver. Exit code: 2.

To be fair, I have problems with ALL OpenVPN related softwares (Hotspot Shield, OpenVPN.net, hideipvpn.com's client software, ...).

Long story short? I have two remaining network devices (labeled Unknown Device), left-over from previous openvpn technology (unknown which one, but I first noticed problems when updating Hotspot Shield, so I guess the blame lies there, originally).

THESE 2 DEVICES are UNREMOVABLE!

Long, detailed introduction, here: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showth ... keys/page2

Follow up, with partial solution, that led to two remaining unknown devices, here: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showth ... ot-Shield)

Also, I tried:
topic7441.html
topic8485.html

Still, I cannot remove the unknown network adapters, left over from OpenVPN. And without removing them, my guess is ALL openvpn-related technology installations will fails :(

SO anyone has ANY inspiration... Please let us know ; )

Peace!

Devvie

Nothing helped, so I went for the last effort: a repair upgrade.

This fixed everything.

Thank you and...
