Sorry for the Noob question here....Very new to OpenVPN (and only working with the client side)

To run and connect the OpenVPN client from a Windows 7 64bit computer, does the logged in user need local Admin Rights on the computer to establish the connection?

I see where people talk about checking the box to "Run as Administrator", but the connection only seems to get established when the person logged in actually is an administrator of the computer (and does not work when the user does not).

I read this article from 2005 and didn't know if this is valid any longer or not?

in order to run openvpn on Windows7 (and Vista) you need elevated privileges; how you get elevated privs is a different matter: simply ticking 'run as Administrator' is not enough.

Thanks for the clarification....So using something CPAU or possibly combining a runas command in the shortcut might work (so long as you have an account with elevated privileges available).
